M1842 Harpers Ferry Smoothbore Musket PA Surcharged

69 Caliber. Barrel is free of rust and pitting and has a fair amount of brown patina. Barrel is dated 1849 with "AR / P" Harpers Ferry inspection. The lock plate is stamped sharp and clear with an 1845 date with matching patina to the barrel. Walnut stock has a light cartouche on the flat with a "PA" surcharge mark twice on the flat and once behind the barrel tang. Overall stock condition is good with a soldiers name, "Powell", carved on the stock. Ramrod is original as is the bayonet that came with the gun. A very nice Mexican War/Civil War Musket.
