M1842 Harpers Ferry Musket

69 Caliber with a very good rifled bore. Barrel is in excellent condition with virtually no pitting and a substantial portion of original browning. Markings are crisp and clear with a barrel tang date of 1854 and lock plate date of 1855. Long range sight has 85% original blued finish. Walnut stock is in fine condition with only a few handling marks and a light cartouche on the flat. Also on the flat is a Naval rack mark of "131". Navy issued guns are the only ones that had a brown finish on the barrel. A rare and desirable variant.
