Manufactured c. 1866-1880s.
44 Cal. with 4" octagon barrel standard.
Barrel blue is approximarely 95% with bright coloring and sharp edges.  Letting is sharp and clear.  The frame retains approximarely 80% of original case color.  The checkered grips are in excellent condition.  Mechanics are excellent.  These guns are normally not found in this condition.  The patent date for this gun is 1864, shown on the breach part of the frame.  As the story goes, this is the style gun used to kill Big Nose Kate of Western fame.
Rare in this condition.
