Product Information
Circa 1840's. Both pistols are in matching condition. The pistols are in excellent condition showing 98% of the original brown barrel finish. The lock, breech plug, hammer and butt tang have 90%+ of the original case color. The high grade walnut stocks are finely checkered. The pistols are numbered "1" and "2" with a gold numerical inlay behind the barrel tang. The engraving is finely executed as you would expect from one of France's top gun makers. The guns are cased in their original oak case with deep emerald green lining and gold lettering. The pair of rods for cleaning and loading are stacked on top of each other. The rosewood-handled screwdriver has some bright polish and is beautifully grained. The nipple wrench missing. The single ball bullet mold originally finished in bright steel has some tarnish. The steel powder measure originally finished in bright steel has some tarnish. The walnut mallet shows no use. There is a small round rosewood percussion cap box and a second round rosewood box designed for patches. This set is in fine condition. The case has a double pin lock with a keyhole and brass escutcheon on the front, for which there is no key. The carrying handle is in the back showing a great deal of confidence in the locking system.
