A very nice plate with the hooks. It has never been cleaned, and not that easy to find complete.

Circa 1860-1865. Rarity 7.  Mullinax Plate 305.
A beautiful non-dug specimen retaining over 50% of the original gold gilt. Belt edge of buckle has a slight bend that does not take away from the buckle at all.

NY Militia Shoulder Belt Plate-City Guard, Officer, Ca 1855-1865. Gilt rolled brass plate w/ a die struck white metal motiffr secured by three wire loops through plate. Attach pin is present. May have been worn by Brooklyn's 23rd Regt. (City Guard Res.) which was formed from portions of the 9th and 10th in 1859. and reorganized in 1862. Ref. O'Donnell-Plate 746 in American Militery Belt Plates. The right hand figure is missing its head.
