John Schildt, SHAF Lecture Series at Christ Reformed Church, 117 W. Main St. 10:30 am – "Sharpsburg Citizens During the Battle of Antietam," Ted Alexander, NPS historian, at Town Hall. 1:30 pm – "The Sublimest Spectacle That Mortals Ever Gaze Upon: How Newspapers Covered the Battle of Antietam," John Nelson, historian, SHAF Lecture Series at Christ Reformed Church. 2:00 pm – "Why Sharpsburg: Lee's Intentions in the Maryland Campaign," Tom Clemens, SHAF president, SHAF Lecture Series at Christ Reformed Church. 2:30 pm – "The 18th Century World of Joseph Chapline, Founder," Sandy Izer, Washington County historian, at Town Hall. 3:30 pm – "The 16th Connecticut Regiment," TBA, SHAF Lecture Series at Christ Reformed Church. Music at the Square 9:00 am – Rohrersville Band, lively wind & brass traditional community musical fare! 10:00 am & 3:30 pm – Pennsylvania Wildcat Regiment Band, period brass regimental band for the boys in blue. 11:00 am & 2:30 pm – 2nd Maryland Fife & Drum Corps, period fifes & drums for the boys in butternut and gray. Noon – Remembrance Ceremony commemorating the 145th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam featuring the Maryland Sons of Confederate Veterans Color Guard, with Rev. Catlett & Rev. Michael, followed by the traditional Battle of the Bands! 1:30 pm – Antietam Women's Ensemble, the melodic beauty of women's a cappella voices at Trinity Lutheran Church. Evening Activities 5:00-7:00 pm – Pig Roast Picnic Dinner at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Advanced Tickets: $10 adults, kids 12 and under $4.
