5th Model Burnsides Carbine
54 Caliber with an excellent bore. Serial #17862. Barrel retains approx. 75+% of it's original blued finish. Markings are good. Receiver is in nice condition with some case color left. Loading lever and block have a good amount of original blued finish. Walnut stock and fore stock have a few minor handling marks with 2 good cartouches on the left stock flat. The gun could be cleaned, which would bring the colors out even better. A very nice example.

Lorenz Rifle Musket Dated 1859
.58 Caliber with a poor bore. Barrel has a nice brown patina overall showing pitting around the nipple and bolster from a lot of firing. Lock, hammer and other metal parts have identical patina. Stock is in very nice condition showing handling marks from usage. Ramrod is original. A very nice example for a gun that has become hard to find.

M1841 Harpers Ferry Mississippi Sabre Bayonet
54 Caliber with a very good bore with heavy rifling. Lock dated 1851 barrel tang dated 1852. Barrel is smooth with no rust with a light salt and peppered finish. Barrel and lock markings are sharp and clear. Long range sight is complete. Walnut stock is in good condition with normal handling marks. Patch box has a spare nipple still inside. All brass has a nice mustard patina having never been cleaned. A nice untouched example.

M1841 Harpers Ferry Mississippi d1846
54 Caliber with a very good bore with heavy rifling. Dated 1846 on barrel tang and lock plate. The barrel has a nice brown patina with no rust overall with very good markings on the barrel and the lock. Brass has a nice mellow patina. Walnut stock is in very nice condition with usual handling marks. Barrel bayonet lug is set to handle a M1855 Rifle Bayonet (not having the Harpers Ferry key way). Stock flat is marked "OHIO" - probably a State issued militia piece of Mexican War usage.

M1842 Harpers Ferry Musket
69 Caliber with a very good rifled bore. Barrel is in excellent condition with virtually no pitting and a substantial portion of original browning. Markings are crisp and clear with a barrel tang date of 1854 and lock plate date of 1855. Long range sight has 85% original blued finish. Walnut stock is in fine condition with only a few handling marks and a light cartouche on the flat. Also on the flat is a Naval rack mark of "131". Navy issued guns are the only ones that had a brown finish on the barrel. A rare and desirable variant.

M1842 Harpers Ferry Smooth Bore Musket Dated 1851
Barrel has good markings including Harpers Ferry inspector marks with some old grease and salt and peppering to metal. Dated 1851 on barrel and lock. Walnut stock retains cartouche on left flat and shows signs of having been refinished long ago. Folk Art design applied to stock butt may have been the reason for trying to refinish the stock.

M1842 Harpers Ferry Smooth Bore Musket Dated 1852
69 Caliber with a poor bore. Barrel is in good condition with very fine textured pitting. Harpers Ferry proofs are on the barrel with a good 1852 tang date. Lock has sharp markings with the same finish and an 1852 lock date. Walnut stock is in good condition showing typical wear and 2 cartouches on the stock flat. This is obviously a gun that was used during the Civil War. Ramrod is original but is very tight in the channel probably due to dirt and corrosion in the ramrod channel.

M1842 Harpers Ferry Smoothbore Musket PA Surcharged
69 Caliber. Barrel is free of rust and pitting and has a fair amount of brown patina. Barrel is dated 1849 with "AR / P" Harpers Ferry inspection. The lock plate is stamped sharp and clear with an 1845 date with matching patina to the barrel. Walnut stock has a light cartouche on the flat with a "PA" surcharge mark twice on the flat and once behind the barrel tang. Overall stock condition is good with a soldiers name, "Powell", carved on the stock. Ramrod is original as is the bayonet that came with the gun. A very nice Mexican War/Civil War Musket.

M1855 Harpers Ferry Rifle Iron Mounted
All metal parts are bright and appear to have been lightly cleaned with sharp markings on the lock. Barrel is dated 1861 - lock dated 1860. Maynard Tape primer is complete and working. M1855 Harpers Ferry Rifle Musket Dated 1858
UNFIRED! Excellent Condition. 58 caliber - 40" barrel, standard proof marks at breech plus "WCK" inverted on right side and 1858 date on top. The lockplate is also dated 1858 on the tail and stamped "U.S./HARPERS FERRY" ahead of the hammer. It has a sliding ladder type long range rear sight. The flat opposite the lock has two script cartouches, "JAS" and "LB", plus "WCK", all are clear and sharp. It has a brass nose cap, all other mountings of iron, and was made without a patch box. It is fitted with a standard tulip head ramrod. All iron surfaces are bright having all markings clear and sharp, now has dried grease in many areas. The Maynard tape system is complete and operable. Outstanding stock has sharp crisp edges, raised grain, and clear well struck cartouches.

M1861 Contract Musket by Manton
Metal parts have a matching patina of light gray with no rust and very minor pitting. Barrel and lock markings are sharp and clear with NY stamped on barrel. Walnut stock is in very good condition with a sharp cartouche on the flat. Butt tang stamped "18" and "NY" at the left cheek bottom. Under 2,000 total qty mfg. with 1,074 sold to New York in 1863. A very rare Contract Musket.

M1861 Springfield Rifled Musket Dated 1861
58 Caliber with an average to poor bore. Barrel has a grayish-brown look overall showing signs of light cleaning sometime in the past. The barrel date and proof marks are light but legible. 3-Leaf sight is original and intact. Nipple is a replacement. Lock markings and date are very good and clear. Butt plate tang has "US" with "D/16" denoting Co. D 16th man. Walnut stock is in very good to fine condition with a light cartouche on the left stock flat. Model 1861's dated 1861 are the most sought after muskets at this time.

M1863 Sharps Carbine
.52 Caliber with a good bore. Serial #C15XXX. All metal parts has a nice even brown patina with good clear markings. Long range site is complete. Pellet primer is missing the interior spring and cap cover. One tang screw, sling bar screw and frame appear to have been replaced. Wood is in average condition with no cracks but showing an interesting pattern on both sides of stock and wrist of tack marks with indentation in the wood and a lot of the tack shanks minus the brass heads still in place. Consistent with the way Indians would decorate their guns during the Indian War. A well used gun - if only this gun could talk.

Serial #C316xx. 52 Caliber with an excellent bore. Barrel retains approx. 95% original blue with blue loss showing only at the muzzle. All markings on the metal are extremely crisp and clear. Breech has approx. 65% original case color. Walnut stock and fore stock have some minor handling marks with 2 good cartouches on the flat. Butt cap and patch box retain some case color. All screws have blue and do not appear damaged. A beautiful and high condition sharps.

M1873 Springfield Carbine
Serial #1137xx. 45/70 Caliber with a very good bore. Metal barrel shows sharp stampings and a nice brown patina finish with very slight pitting toward the muzzle end. Breech block and hammer show traces of case color. Walnut stock is in good condition overall with a very dark look. Going by the serial number, this gun was probably mfg. between 1876-1878. A nice example.

Mfg. circa 1886-1889 with Buffington rear sight w/ letter "C" on leaf. Serial #450xxx. Qty. made approx. 20,000. Barrel has nice even brown patina with good markings, sight has 90% of original blued finish. Breech retains good case color with sharp markings. Lock has sharp Eagle and markings. P-53 Enfield 1862 lock date
.577 cal. Brown patina on barrel which appears to have been lightly cleaned at some time - ramrod is original and has "T&CC" stamped near the front. Bore is average. There is deep pitting in metal at nipple on breech of barrel. Barrel markings are good - wood is dry on the butt stock and has numerous initials carved into it. Obviously a gun that has seen quite a bit of action during it's service.

Richmond High Hump Rifled Musket Dated 1862
The barrel, lock, trigger guard, patch box and butt plate have a light patina with some dark marked areas and appears to have had some light cleaning. The barrel bands appear to remain uncleaned. Markings on lock are crisp. Barrel markings are good with the date only having a remnant of "61". Walnut stock is in very good condition and appears to be of Harpers Ferry mfg. with the Maynard Tape Primer slot. Middle and upper barrel bands, nose cap and ram rod appear to be of Richmond mfg. Undoubtedly, this is one of the first Richmonds put together utilizing left over Harpers Ferry parts. It is in good working condition with a good bore.

Spencer Rifle
Serial #28893 - Serial number range for the 105th PA Vol. Infantry with #28895 being an identified gun to that unit. Barrels blued finish is turning a plum brown with no rust or pitting. Receiver and other metal parts have a matching patina. The walnut stock and fore stock are in fine condition. Bore is very good. Gun is overall mechanically sound. Rear sling swivel has been removed and a silver name plate placed with a name lightly inscribed. A fine looking rifle!

Spencer Rifle
Serial #28825 - Serial number range for the 105th PA Vol. Infantry with #28826 being an identified gun to that unit. Barrel has a nice even brown patina with no rust or pitting. Frame has a matching look. Markings on frame are good with the serial number partially obscured. Barrel with fore stock removed shows the serial number correctly and complete. Walnut stock is in good condition but appears to have a varnish finish which could be removed if desired. Walnut fore stock is in excellent condition but appears to have been replaced with an original fore stock and center band with sling swivel. This work was probably done by Nelson Delany, Reading, PA a gunsmith in the 1860 census. His name and address are stamped on the barrel in front of the rear sight. This is probably a gun he acquired from a veteran from the 105th PA, worked on it and resold it.
The Pennsylvania Kentucky Rifle by Henry J. Kauffman ~ "Delaney, Nelson; 8 North Fifth Street, Reading, PA. 1860. Nelson Delaney appears to have worked in Reading, PA, throughout most of the last half of the nineteenth century. He is listed as a gunsmith in a PA Business Directory of 1860 and two groups of his rifles were offered for sale in the 1885 catalogue of Jos. C. Grubb in Phila., PA."

Triplett & Scott Repeating Carbine
Mfg. by the Meriden Mfg. Company, Meriden, CT. 1864-1865. .50 Caliber Rimfire 7 shot magazine. Scarce 22" barrel ~ more commonly seen with 30" barrels. Barrel retains 98% of its original blue. Breech frame has nice case colors. Walnut stock and fore stock are in excellent condition with inspector initials on the rear of the stock next to the butt plate ~ "N / WB". This gun is one of 5000 piece contract for the State of Kentucky. This was the second venture into Arms making by Charles Parker who would become famous as one of the leading American Shotgun Manufacturers! This carbine is in excellent condition. A truly unique operating design!
