Cased Colt Dragoon Second Model Serial #8615 - all numbers match. Prod. 1850-1851- total mfg. 2700
with serial range from 8,000-10,700.
Overall metal condition is consistent showing some wear but retaining good sharp edges with very minor pitting on the cylinder. Markings are crisp with the cylinder retaining approx. 30% of its Indian Fight Scene. Loading lever and protected area of the barrel still retain some finish. "US" martial marking on the frame is clear. Cylinder has 1st model oval stops instead of rectangular 2nd model stops - could be due to the early production of this 2nd model with a left over 1st model cylinder. Walnut grips are in fine condition showing some shrinkage with no visible cartouche. Flask in the case is original with the case being old but not from Colt.

Cased Gastine-Renette, Paris Dueling Pistols Circa 1840's. Both pistols are in matching
condition. The pistols are in excellent condition showing 98% of the original brown barrel finish. The lock, breech plug, hammer and butt tang have 90%+ of the original case color. The high grade

France's top gun makers. The guns are cased in their original oak case with deep emerald green lining and gold lettering. The pair of rods for cleaning and loading are stacked on top of each other.
The rosewood-handled screwdriver has some bright polish and is beautifully grained. The nipple wrench missing. The single ball bullet mold originally finished in bright steel has some tarnish. The steel
powder measure originally finished in bright steel has some tarnish. The walnut mallet shows no use. There is a small round rosewood percussion cap box and a second round rosewood box designed for
patches. This set is in fine condition.
The case has a double pin lock with a keyhole and brass escutcheon on the front, for which there is no key. The carrying handle is in the back showing a great deal of confidence in the locking system.
