1825 Charleston Porter Tag Diamond shaped "slave tag" made by well known Charleston silversmith and City Marshall John J. Lafar. Upper tag corner has hole and beneath
reads "CHARLESTON / 1825 / PORTER / No. 629 / LAFAR" indicating the city where the tag was made, date of issue, slave occupation and slave number. Tag has been well cleaned but still shows
