Built in 1819 by John Knode as his residence, Sharpsburg Arsenal is located in the historic square of Sharpsburg, Maryland. During the Battle of Antietam, artillery fire from the Union batteries located on Cemetery Hill, firing on Lee's Headquarters in the Grove House across the square, hit this home. Wounded soldiers from the Battle of Antietam were housed here for weeks after the battle.

During a visit to the store while viewing our large selection of Civil War antiques, you will be immersed in the era of September, 1862.

Come visit us and share the ambiance of a historical Civil War home.
